Today is the seventh day of the year of our Lord 2015! As I type this, I can see across a field blanketed in fresh snow to a bare, lonely tree pointing upward to a bright, clear sky which belies the arctic temperatures. (At least, 18°F seems arctic to those of us who are accustomed to these moderate latitudes!) Just last night I was reminded, along with the students of a local children’s Bible club, that the Bible speaks about snow. The reference the leader picked was Psalm 51:7, where the Psalmist asks God to “wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Isn’t it amazing that God has chosen to offer this cleansing to us?
This month’s new article is entitled Barnabas: A Generous Encourager. In this character sketch of Barnabas, Harold Martin takes us to four different passages in the book of Acts which demonstrate Barnabas’ faithfulness in generosity, friendship, encouragement, and forgiveness.
Our desire and purpose here at Bible Helps is that each one of you would live a life that has been cleansed whiter than snow, and that you would be blessed in both giving and receiving of the ministry of encouragement throughout the new year.
